WHY WHY WHY....???????

My 9,800 days (26.85 yrs) of life haven't been a bed of roses.... okie.. it might be a bed of roses with numerous thorns, pricking and pricking me all over... i sigh.. i sigh.. i cannot stop sighing....


Age 1-10 yrs

1. Because of my tiny eyes, fair skin and flat face... i have been mistaken for being a down syndrome, or a retarded when i was young...


2. During my Grandpa's funeral when i was a year old, i grabbed a big red bulb with my bare hands and got burnt quite badly


3. I have worms in my stomach when i was young and my anus will itch at night when they try to crawl out. I've been to A&E numerous times late at night for the worms to be "extracted"


4. I was taking a nap on a high table when i rolled off and landed on my head... think that's when i became abit siao siao


5. I rolled down numerous (>20) times down the steps at our old shophouse in Haji Lane, and i think that adds on to my siao-ness


6. During a PE lesson in Pri 3, i accidentally stepped on a soccer ball and fell flat on my face, resulting in a crooked tooth, and 15 yrs later an infection which requires surgery.


7. During class in Pri 3, someone passed me a note in class. "if you see this note, you will have to pay 40 cents to celebrate Daphne's first day of wearing glasses". I told my elder sis about this (we're in the same school) and she stormed up to the clique who started this. Thereafter, i was hated by them.


8. It was the first year MOE started the streaming exercise in Pri 3. One yr later in Pri 4, they decided that Pri 4 would be a better time to stream. So i was "streamed" again in Pri 4.

Age 11-20 yrs

1. On the day i got my PSLE results, there was a heavy rain.. i folded my results slip and stuff them into my pocket. when i reached home.. there was a big hole right in the middle..


2. Shifted house from Haji Lane to HG when i was 13. So was the only one from St Anthony's Convent Pri to Xinmin Sec.. The first few days of school were Reeeeaaaalllllyyyyy scary !! but it was there that i met the nicest people (PY and XL) and the worst (IPP)


3. Was one of the few from Xinmin to Anderson JC (None from my class). The first few days were even MORE scarrrrryyyyyyyyy.... culture shock.... but it was there that i met a few more nicest ppl (B4s)


4. JC days.. ha... the B4s - Pynk = B3s were totally ostracised in class.. all thank to LING.. will neva forget what a big bully she is in class... ha... can you imagine.. in our annual college magazine, everyone in class had a cartoon animal representing them, EXCEPT US !!


5. From AJC 26/98, Me and Fern were the only ones going to NTU accountancy. In fact, i think only Me and Fern were in NTU. But, she refuse to stay in hall... so the first day in Hall 3 is.... Rather scary....

Age 21 to current

1. During our Final year... JUST before my final exam, SARS OUTBREAK. Exams were postponed for 2 weeks... my god.. 2 more weeks of torture.


2. Going for exams were such a hassle. Gotta reach at least 45 mins earlier to take temperature and obtain a sticker certifying OK.


3. Graduated in 2003. But economy was bad... $1,600 take-home pay was pathetic.


4. First year in DT. No bonus... subsequently, the firsts year started to get bonus...


5. Of the engagements i did in DT, majority had issues / major changes. Change functional currency, change YE, whole finance team is new, change accounting system, new contracts, new clients, FRAUD.. yes FRAUD..


6. After my 5th peak this year... i've decided to call it quits. Already decided to tender my resignation after clearing my leave... BUT.. BUT BUT BUT... as i was happily on leave... Lehman brothers went belly up... then, the financial crisis went into full gear... heard that DT's US and HK offices were starting retrenchment exercise... my GOD... AM I REALLIE FATED TO STAY?????? WHO CAN SAVE ME???? WHO CAN BUY ME OUT???
   

Feeling very lost right now.... WHY ??
