We experienced DOWNnnnnssss... and UPsss these 2 days...
The story goes like this...
Wed afternoon, we were told by our ID that they will
1) Install the aircon on Wed itself
2) Lay the SUPREME laminate flooring for our bedrooms on thursday...
3) Install the kitchen and toilet cabinets on friday.
So on Wed night after work, me n hubby dropped by our new place to see the installed aircon. When we reached there, we got a shock..
the laminate flooring was almost completely laid... BUT
BUT

BUT
What they laid was not SUPREME laminate... they used another brand called INOVAR.
Well... SUPREME is a well known brand in Spore... and Peiyin's house uses SUPREME laminate too.. and i LOVE the feeling and effect of it... so, i was totally aghast that it was not the SUPREME laminate that we have chosen long long time ago....
First thing we did is to call our ID. He immediately called the SUPREME Director, and the Director called us back.
The director Jenny, told us that she is very very sorry. The SUPREME laminate which we have chosen is out of stock... that is why she switch to INOVAR. BUt she told us not to worry as INOVAR is a subsi brand of SUPREME... and INOVAR is the brand name they used for export.... BUT, how can i trust what she says? If Supreme is such a "branded" laminate, why would you export your laminate with the exact same quality under a different brand? Unless its less luxurious? Just like Lexus and Toyota, Soo Kee and SK jewellery....
Then she further explain she forgot to tell our ID...
Wah lau eh... so many excuses.... can't trust them.
In the end, we insisted we do not want the INOVAR laminate...
They agreed... which made us feel better...
But.. since the one that we have originally chosen is out of stock, we chose another one...
Here comes the good thing:
The one we have subsequently chosen is NICER than the one we originally wanted :)
So, i hope this is the only shocking thing that will happen... so far, my reno has been smooth and up to our expectations...
I must pray that things go smoothly these 2 weeks.. and then, we'll be FREE of worrying bout RENO.. come to think of it.. we've been busy with reno since Dec 08. Sourcing for ID, thinking bout what we wanna do, finalising the contract, finalising the designs, choosing tiles, laminates for floor and carpentries, buying toilet accessories, kitchen accessories, electrical appliances, lights, aiyo.. the list can go on and on...
i must persevere.. i will be free in 2 weeks....(i sincerely hope and i keep my fingers crossed)
